Joy Is Serious Business
Welcome to my corner of the internet.
I’m Jacqueline, mum to Tilly, designer, researcher, sunset-chaser, and a firm believer that joy is a serious business.
If you’ve found your way here, I imagine you’re looking for something more than just another “self-care” blog. Maybe you’re navigating your own version of a storm; maybe you’re feeling a bit burnt out by a world that asks us to be “on” 24/7; or maybe you’re just curious about how to find a little more awe in the everyday.
Whatever the reason, I’m so glad you’re here.
This blog is deeply personal for me. It’s the home for my own perspectives and research, but it’s also the foundation for Elevate.
THE SPARK
The spark for all of this came from a massive, life-altering health journey I went through. It was the kind of experience that strips everything from you.
It taught me that while “wellness” is a lovely idea, it’s our capacity for emotional buoyancy that truly sustains us.
It’s the difference between just surviving a challenge and having the tools to rise above it.
Everything I share here is an extension of what I’ve learned while rebuilding my own world. It’s grounded in research, lived experience, and is fueled by the messy, beautiful reality of daily life. It’s a practice I’m navigating in real-time.
THE PRACTICE
Staying centered is a craft. Like any practice, it requires us to show up for ourselves.
It requires active observation, noticing the way the light hits a leaf or choosing a moment of defiant delight when the headlines feel a bit too heavy. It requires being patient with ourselves when we feel stuck and having the tools to gently move forward anyway.
Think of this newsletter as a peek inside my personal toolbox. I’ll be sharing the myriad ways we can tap into our own strength and find wonder in the micro-moments of the life we are already living.
My hope is that this space leaves you feeling a little lighter, a lot more capable, and inspired to start your own practice of elevating the everyday.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to join me.
And please, feel free to share this with anyone you think might need a little extra lift today.
More soon,
Jacqueline x
